How cute are these Easter gummies I made? They were super easy to make and are a great way to give your children holiday treats without filling their basket’s full of unhealthy sugar and food coloring. Gelatin gives the treats their great texture. It’s also full of health benefits. You can find grass fed gelatin online or at Natural Grocers. You can also use any type of flavoring in the form of fruit juice, so they are fun to get creative with!
1 cup of juice, any flavor you like. Orange and apple are my favorite.
2 tablespoons honey, maple syrup or a few drops stevia
4 tablespoons of unflavored gelatin. I like Knox or Vital Proteins brands
Combine the juice and the sweetener of your choice in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat until steaming hot. Careful not to boil it.
Set heat to as low as it will go. Whisk in the gelatin one tablespoon at a time. It’s important to add the gelatin slowly and whisk at the same time so the gelatin dissolves completely.
Remove from the heat and fill each mold with the mixture.
Put in the refrigerator until firm enough to pop out. This will take between 10 – 25 minutes depending on the size of your molds.
If there is extra mixture or you don’t have silicone molds, you can pour it into a dish and cut them into squares, OR you can melt the mixture over low heat when your molds are ready to be used again.
Store the gummies in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
